Microsoft has announced the release of Office LTSC 2024, a commercial version aimed at businesses and organizations. This edition is intended for local installations and does not require an Internet connection to function, which may be attractive to certain customers, such as governments or users who prefer a one-time payment rather than subscriptions.
By default, it includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive and OneNote, with additional options in the 'Plus' version. It includes five years of technical support and only security updates are provided, no new functionality.
The release of this version is confirmed before the end of the year. These types of licenses will be available through volume license agreements.
