Fashion 4.0 receives the ACTinn quality seal award for its project to bring the use of the latest technologies applied to the textile sector closer to society.

Fashion 4.0 received this Monday the ACTinn seal of quality award, Andorra's cluster of innovation and new technologies. The objective of Fashion 4.0 is to bring the use of the latest technologies applied to the textile sector closer to society. Among them is 3D printing that will make it possible to make custom-made dresses and that can completely change the way we consume clothes today, as well as linking the perspective of a more sustainable economy to fashion consumption, taking advantage of the emergence of this new technology. The endowment of the prize is 5,000 euros which will be invested in the purchase of a laser cutter.

The Fashion 4.0 working group is made up of four founding members of ACTinn: Sandra Thuard (managing partner of Commit), Jean-Marc Coulon (CEO of Soc Creatiu), Pere Montes de Oca (managing partner of Gamma) and François Ruiz (Director of Andorsoft). Very soon they will have a location in Escaldes-Engordany, which will be the first Fab lab in Andorra. A Fab lab (acronym of English Fabrication Laboratory) is a space for the production of physical objects on a personal or local scale that groups together computer-controlled machines.

The Fab labs are spaces for experimentation in the field of production that are integrated within the local contexts where they are located. Therefore, there is a great diversity between the objectives, projects and realizations, business models and local articulations according to each Fab lab. Digital manufacturing labs open the way to personal manufacturing and individualization of production.

The Fab Lab will also organize workshops and courses taught by employers, entrepreneurs and students in order to discover the many possibilities offered by technology. In addition, Fashion 4.0 wants to contribute to the socio-economic development of Andorra with the creation of work, a training center, but also the renewal of the Andorran commercial offer, specifically in the field of fashion and its derivatives. If the planned deadlines are met, the first fashion creations can be seen early next year.
