Comparing emails to letters, now “obsolete”, the CERN computer security team issued a warning to take care of your email inbox.

To begin with, experts recall that emails follow the technical principles of letters: "while the recipient's address must be 100% correct to reach its destination safely, the sender can be anyone, a real or fake name, a real or imagined organization, email senders can be forged, they say nothing about the sender."

“When you receive an email, don't trust the supposed sender, analyze everything! Its content, its meaning, the way it connects to you, to your personal life, to your professional obligations… Is it written in a language you speak? Or, simply, does the email make sense to you?”

The recent and multiple attacks on businesses and individuals show that there are many unsuspecting users. “Remember that it is unlikely that your ex-husband/wife will send you love letters.” Requests for money and threats should also immediately sound the alarm.

At the slightest doubt, “stop, think, don’t answer.” Don't open attachments, don't click on links!
